Bay Area Ridge Trail Completed

The newest section of the Bay Area Ridge Trail (BART) is completed. It is a segment that runs from the Rob Hill Campgrounds (beginning at the end of Central Magazine Road) to Park Blvd, where it meets up with the existing multi-use (MUT) section of the BART. The trail will be a combination of MUT and outdoor accessible. The trail meanders through a beautiful serene forest.

Merchant Marine Cemetery Vista Memorial

The Merchant Marine Cemetery Vista Memorial is now mostly completed. The memorial was designed by Michael Lamb, landscape architect with the Presidio Trust. It creates a reflective space overlooking the restored sand dunes, which sit on top of the historic site of the Merchant Marine Cemetary. See below for photos of the construction process.

Batteries to Bluffs Trail Inspires Art and Exercise

Designs in the sand at Marshall Beach mimic the patterns of the waves.

With over 500 steps in 3,600 feet of trail, Batteries to Bluffs (completed in 2007) is a beautiful place to strengthen your legs and heart muscles.
