Presidio Coastal Trail and Golden Gate Overlook

For the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy

To mark the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge, Campbell Grading, Inc., was chosen to build the Golden Gate Overlook, a scenic vista point with a line of sight in which Golden Gate Bridge’s  two towers align perfectly.

In addition to providing a spectacular view of the bridge, the overlook also offers views of the Pacific Ocean, the Marin Headlands, and the historic Batteries.

As part of the same project, we also constructed the Presidio Coastal Trail, a new section of the 2,100-mile-long California Coastal Trail that traces the California coastline from Mexico to Oregon. This section of outdoor accessible trail, paved with Park Tread® surfacing, gets its name from the Presidio of San Francisco, through which it runs.

The Golden Gate Overlook converges not only with the California Coastal Trail but also with the Bay Area Ridge Trail and the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail.
