Presidio Coastal Trail (Completed Spring 2012)

Marin County

Dias Ridge and Muir Beach Horseback Ride

On February 9, 2011, Barth and his horse Murphy rode from Dias Ridge across Highway One, up and over Coyote Ridge, and back down the Coastal Trail to Muir Beach (approximately an 8.5 mile loop). This was the perfect opportunity to examine the conditions of both trails after the late 2010 winter rain storms.

Horses on the Trails

The Dias Ridge Trail and the Muir Beach Trail have helped to create over five continuous miles of new trail for equestrians, mountain bikers, and hikers. The new trail connects to a larger network of equestrian and bike-friendly trails that continue to Tennessee Valley and throughout the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in Marin County.
